Language leaders through Anglia Ruskin University
Every year teenagers from all schools in the country work hard towards their bronze, silver or gold DofE award, consisting of volunteering, physical activity and a skill. Last year Croxley Danes launched the Language Leaders programme for students to achieve the volunteering aspect of the award and as a stand-alone national leadership award. The program promoted leadership, communication and teamwork by tasking students to deliver lessons to their classmates on a foreign language. Some of these languages that were creatively displayed last year included, Portuguese, Hindi, French, Polish and many more. Furthermore, students were encouraged to prepare all resources and deliver them in class. Congratulations to S. Zamosny, T.Peters, T.Muropa, B.Mistretta, Kateyln W, Veeksha B, Colin B, Iris C, Victor M-C, Jean-Pierre S, Guy W, Erin McG and E.Knell who all received their certification and badges this week in their assemblies.
We have recruited our Language Leaders for this year who are Brianna C, Lilia, DeS, Ashlya D, Kasumi F, Emily H, Mia H, Chloe I, Hannah K, Lara M, Zuriel O, Aline P, Samuel P, Avni P, Leonor S, Eva S, Emma W. We hope to continue with the same success and expand our horizons by visiting our feeder schools to deliver at least one lesson.
