Topping Out Ceremony at Baldwins Lane
On Thursday, Mr Thompson, Terry James (Chair of Governors) and Rosie Faunch (Chair of the Danes Educational Trust Board) attended a 'Topping out' ceremony at Baldwins Lane with key personnel from Kier, our principal contractors, looking on. The ceremony gave the visitors a chance to see the shell of the building which is now complete from a fantastic vantage point on the roof. Mr Thompson was presented with a ceremonial, engraved trowel to go with the spade which the school received to mark the breaking ground ceremony. It is exciting to think that the next major ceremony will take place when the keys are handed over next year. During the visit, guests were able to see the artwork from our talented students which is now on display on the hoardings outside the site. They were also able to get a fantastic view of the lime tree walk which is on the brink of coming into bud. Congratulations to the following students whose work is displayed:
Erika Sarangaya – 7C (Six Shields)
Samuel Christansen – 7G (School)
Katelyn and Alice – 7C (Large Shield and School Activities)
Bibibella Mistretta – 7G (Woodland Scene with Scientist, Health Worker, Constructor, Law Enforcement Officer)
