Croxley Danes School - 2022 GCSE results

We are delighted to announce that the inaugural cohort of students at Croxley Danes School have performed very successfully in their GCSE examinations this summer. The results were released at 9.00am this morning, with many students arriving early despite the poor weather because they were so eager to open their results envelopes.

Over 20% of the student cohort averaged a grade 7 or above across all their GCSEs and early calculations indicate that a significant majority have made progress beyond expectations based on their primary school SAT results.

For a school that does not select any students based on academic ability, the attainment across the core subjects was very positive. When considering the percentage of students achieving a standard pass or better (grade 4 and above), all the core subjects exceeded 80%:

The GCSE English results proved to be exceptionally strong with 75% of students achieving a strong pass (grade 5 and above) in English Language and 82% achieving a strong pass in English Literature.

There were many individual student successes to celebrate. The top GCSE grade that can be attained is grade 9 and twins Harriet and Jack W were awarded 11 grades 9s in total across their 19 GCSE results. Grace W and Layla M, who have been best friends since the age of three, were also high performers. Special mention must be made for Josh M who attained eight grade 9s and, in particular, Yousuf S who was awarded a straight set of grade 9s in his 10 subjects – placing him in the top 0.25% of performers nationally this year. A tremendous achievement.

There were also some superb performances in terms of students who have made exceptional progress over their time at Croxley Danes - most notably Mia T, Emily W and Amir M-B who were all awarded results which far surpassed their target grades.

It was a pleasure to witness the students receiving their GCSE results and to observe the ever-growing queue as they subsequently confirmed their enrolment into the Sixth Form. We look forward to them commencing their A-level studies in September. It was also fantastic to see so many parents and staff present to support the students as they received their results – a clear reminder that a strong home-school relationship sets the foundation for student success.
