Remembrance Service 2022
On 11th November we marked Remembrance Day at Croxley Danes. At 11.00am the whole school gathered outside where a one-minute silence was held. The last post was performed by some of our talented musicians.
In addition to our activities in school, Croxley Danes was also represented at the Croxley Green Remembrance service on Sunday 13th November at the War Memorial. Two of our students presented a wreath on behalf of the school. Jess R wrote a very moving poem that she read out to those that attended the service:
Remembrance Day poem written by Jess R
Remember me, he said
Please don't grieve but carry my legacy on My memory, my love, my care instead
From when we first met to when out of your arms, to war I was
declared
But my love, I hope it's not too much to bare
Our poppies are here for me and you Grow them, show them and wear them too
With you or not
My darling I am watching over you
My body may not be here in the heart of our home
But know you are never alone
I am proud of who I became and I hope that you stay the same
Because my darling, I am watching over you
And we have won
We've won our pride The country's hearts
We've achieved our parts
In making our futures
Your future
So my love
Please
Don't grieve
For I will never leave
My memory, my love, my care
