Learner Voice Council Induction Day
On November 14th our 24 Learner Voice Council students took part in an induction day at St Clement Danes School. The Learner Voice Council is a group of students across all year groups who have chosen to offer their voice to issues relating to the teaching and learning taking place at school and enact change through projects which they will lead themselves.
The induction day brought together the various Learner Voice Council representatives from schools across the Danes Educational Trust - St Clement Danes, Chancellors, Elstree Screen Arts Academy and Onslow St. Audrey’s for a chance to introduce the purpose of the councils and the process that they will go through this year; choosing a project or several projects, conducting research and gathering data to support their plans, meeting with staff and students as necessary and presenting a proposal to their schools and teachers.
The day featured workshops led by senior staff across the Danes Educational Trust - including Mrs Cox - on oracy and presentation skills, how to research and the process of developing a project plan.
Our Learner Voice Council students conducted themselves brilliantly at the induction day, providing great initial feedback and cementing their plans to work on projects based around how to improve communication at the school.
