DET Law Day Experience for Budding Law Students
On Thursday 25th January, eight aspiring Croxley Danes law students were invited to attend the inaugural Danes Educational Trust Law Day at the University of Hertfordshire. The day brought together over 40 Year 11 and 12 students from across all the secondary schools within the trust, for whom studying law at university, or practising law as a career is a realistic prospect.
On the day, students heard from practising lawyers and current and former law students and academics about their studies and careers. They were also given the chance to experience what the future may hold for them when they participated in a real life courtroom scenario, taking part in a mock trial at the university’s mock courtroom. It was fantastic to see the students get stuck in, taking on their assigned courtroom roles with gusto and really making the most of the opportunity.
Thank you to our colleagues at Chancellor’s School and the University of Hertfordshire Law School for organising such an informative and immersive event, and well done to the students who took part, we look forward to some exciting legal careers ahead!
