Students Advocate for Equality at Student DEI Conference
On Monday 14th October, students William, Skylar, and Adrien proudly represented Croxley Danes School at the inaugural Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) Conference. Hosted by Royal Masonic School at their Sixth Form Centre, the event brought together students and staff from various schools, including Merchant Taylors, St Helen’s, Beaconsfield, Chancellor’s, and Katherine Warrington.
The conference kicked off with an insightful training session led by Ms Hosty, Assistant Head at Northwood School. This session equipped students with the tools and knowledge necessary to foster a culture of equality in their schools. Following the training, participants engaged in meaningful discussions about how they could collaborate to organise more equality-themed inter-school events in the future.
The Herts DEI network, established in 2023 by our very own Mrs Richards, Croxley Danes Equalities Coordinator, aims to create a collaborative space for school equality leaders. The network meets regularly to share best practices and support one another in promoting inclusivity across the region.
A huge congratulations to our student Equalities Leaders for their dedication and commitment to advocating for equality. Their hard work is essential in shaping a more inclusive community for all students. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of their efforts in the future!
