Croxley Danes School confirms move to permanent site at Easter 2020

Croxley Danes School announced today that it will open the doors to students at its permanent site in Baldwins Lane at the start of the summer term 2020.

The Department for Education (DfE) have confirmed the move from the Tolpits Lane site will take place at the end of the Easter term ensuring students start the Summer term on Monday 20^th April at their new school.

Mr Stephen Thompson, Headteacher, shared the news with families today, saying “we are delighted to inform the parents and students who have supported the school on its journey so far and look forward to welcoming them to the new site.”

The development, which was designed by HKS architects and constructed by Kier contains a wide scope of fantastic facilities for students. In addition to the specialist teaching areas required for a broad and balanced curriculum, there are also exciting large spaces such as an activities studio, learning resource centre, sports hall, assembly hall, sixth form study area and drama studio.

The 33-acre site offers established grounds which have been developed to deliver sports facilities whilst retaining their natural character. The original long walk lined by lime trees to Snells Hall Manor House has been retained in the school grounds.

There will be 480 students transferring from the current site, with this number increasing to 660 in September 2020. When at full capacity in 2024, the school will be able to hold 1206 students aged 11-18.
