Students Design Croxley Green Eco Trail

Our People and Planet students at Croxley Danes have created a brilliant project this month alongside Croxley Green Parish Council and local primary schools, designing an eco trail of the local area for Great Big Green Week. With a map to follow, questions to answer, and prizes to be won, the trail encourages the local community to embark on a journey around Croxley Green and discover how they can become more environmentally and sustainably aware.

This trail was the brainchild of our students who wrote to the council with their plan and attended a joint meeting with them to develop it. Interactive posters have been put up at each location on the trail map with QR codes featuring a short video from one of our students or a local primary school communicating an interesting environmental fact relevant to the location on the map. Once participants have completed their trail map, they can bring it to the Parish Council Offices to collect an eco-friendly prize!

The eco trail took a lot of planning and hard work from our People and Planet students, who, along with Croxley Green Parish Council, have developed a well thought out, fun and creative eco-friendly activity for the whole community to take part in.

The trail is running from Friday 14th June to Monday 24th June, to find out more and to download your map and question sheet, click here

The People and Planet group runs every Tuesday lunchtime in H2 and is open to all students interested in global and environmental issues.
