Duke of Edinburgh Silver Practice Expedition
As the autumn night begin to draw in 27 brave year 10 students set out on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition. After some refresher training students left Croxley Danes School heading north for their first night at Phasels wood. After a good first night's sleep inside one of the Phasels' wooden cabins students set off for a long 20km walk through the Chilterns hill to their 2nd camp at Braid wood scout camp. Spirits were high as groups made their way through their routes ticking off checkpoints at the correct times and delighted when they saw Mr Evans, Ms Tubbritt, Miss Northridge or their new Head of Year Mr Wheatley!
After a slightly colder night's sleep in their tents under the stars, students completed their 3rd and final day at Ashleigh Green. Congratulations to everyone who took part, keep up those map reading skills and we look forward to your qualifying expedition in May!
