Campaign Champion Students take part in Community Activism
This year’s Campaign Champions for Send My Friend to School, Amaya and Rebecca, have been busy bringing the message of global education to the school and wider local community. During June and July, they led assemblies at Ascot Road Primary School, as well as assemblies and workshops about global education at Croxley Danes School and Chater Junior School.
Rebecca Day, Year 5 teacher at Chater Junior school reported that ‘The Year 5 children at Chater were delighted to welcome Mrs Richards, Amaya and Rebecca for the Send my Friend to School presentation and workshop. Amaya and Rebecca were both full of knowledge and interacted with all of the children with patience, kindness and respect. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and opportunity to work with young people who are passionate about Global Education. Thank you for inspiring others; we are already displaying their beautiful work across Chater.’
Send My Friend to School is a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities. It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all children across the globe.
We are very proud of all that Amaya and Rebecca have achieved this year and look forward to them visiting parliament in the autumn as part of Parliamentary Action Day.
