Croxley Danes Achieves Eco-Schools Green Flag Award
We are thrilled to announce that Croxley Danes has been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, a significant recognition of our school's commitment to sustainability and environmental work. This achievement is the result of the accomplishments and dedication of our student-led Eco Council, also known as the People and Planet group.
Comprising a team of students from Year 7 to Sixth form, the People and Planet group have undertaken a variety of eco-friendly initiatives throughout the past academic year. Their efforts have included everything from gardening projects and litter picking to attending Eco Youth Forums and collaborating with the local council. Through these actions, they have successfully promoted sustainability and educated our school community about the importance of environmental care.
A highlight of this year’s initiatives was the creation of a local eco-trail by our students. This innovative project not only highlighted our commitment to environmental awareness but also served to educate the wider community on sustainable practices.
The recognition by Eco-Schools, which acknowledges schools for their efforts in fostering sustainability, highlights the variety and impact of the projects led by our students. It also provides encouragement for us to continue expanding our eco-actions and initiatives in the future.
We are incredibly proud of our students and their outstanding contributions to a greener future. We look forward to building on this achievement and continuing to make Croxley Danes a leader in environmental sustainability!
