Christmas at Croxley Danes School by Bibi M 9G
The tree is up, the countdown has begun and Christmas cheer is rapidly spreading throughout the students of Croxley Danes!
Christmas has officially landed at Croxley Danes, starting with teachers and students alike getting their craft on for the 12 days of Christmas countdown. Teachers of all subjects have created short tutorials on how to make certain Christmas themed projects. These include Geography’s recycled pencil pot, math’s accurate 5-pointed stars and art’s decorative paper star ornaments. The aim is to bring families together to take part in a range of interactive faculty activities. Take a look at the school website (or twitter) every day to be dazzled by the remaining activities!
A sure sign of Christmas that can lift anyone’s spirits is a Christmas tree, ours is standing proud in the library for all to see. The decorations that embellish this tree are no ordinary decorations. Teachers have written book recommendations on colourful baubles to inspire students. In addition, on the last week of school the library is open for students to take part in Christmas activities, including, book mark colouring and Christmas card making.
Ending the festivities on a high, the last week of term is designated Charities Week. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday students will be able to participate in the annual capturing of lessons by donating to a charity of the school’s choosing. Instead of their usual lessons, students will be able to choose to donate to the charity and watch a film instead. This is not only enjoyable for the students but it means the school are able to contribute to charities at this important time of the year.
We hope to have a great couple of weeks and wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
