Year 10 Student's Outstanding Achievement at Herts County Swimming Championships
We are absolutely delighted to share the remarkable achievements of Summer, a Year 10 student, at the recent Hertfordshire County Swimming Championships. Despite being only 15 years old, Summer now competes in the 16 and over category, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication.
Summer’s results were nothing short of outstanding:
- She won Gold in the 200m Backstroke, setting a new personal best with an impressive 4-second improvement.
- She also claimed Gold in the 400m Individual Medley.
- In the 200m Individual Medley, Summer secured Bronze, achieving a 3-second personal best.
- Additionally, she placed 4th in the 1500m Freestyle, shaving an impressive 40 seconds off her personal best – an incredible feat, especially as this race followed her participation in the County Cross Country event earlier that same morning!
In recognition of her outstanding performances, Summer was awarded a County Trophy for finishing 5th overall in the over-16s category, a testament to her remarkable ability to compete against older swimmers.
Looking ahead, Summer is gearing up for the Regionals in March and May, where she hopes to qualify for both the British and English Nationals.
Her achievements are a direct result of her hard work, resilience, and determination, and we are incredibly proud of her success. We look forward to seeing her continue to excel in the pool and wish her the best of luck in her upcoming competitions.
