Youth COP Event 2024/25
On the 11th February, select students represented Croxley Danes School at the Youth COP event in Hertfordshire, joining 28 other schools from across the county to take part in vital discussions about climate change and sustainability. Jaisha M in Year 11 wrote the following about her experience of the day -
“The YouthCOP 2024/25 in Stevenage was an exciting and eye-opening experience! The En-ROADS climate debate was like a high-stakes strategy game—we had to work with students from other schools to balance the needs of different sectors such as agriculture, clean tech, climate justice and a variety of other sectors while tackling climate change. The interactive workshops were just as engaging, especially the flood risk adaptation session, where we designed flood-proof houses – some ideas were wild but surprisingly effective! The sustainability careers fair was packed with universities, colleges, and apprenticeships, all showcasing amazing projects and future career paths. We even got a few freebies – pens, water bottles, notebooks and more which was nice. It was a brilliant mix of teamwork, creativity, and real-world problem-solving—definitely a wonderful experience to remember!”
