Celebrating Purim 2025
This week we celebrated Purim, the joyful Jewish Carnival Festival. The Croxley Danes Jewish Society (JSoc) organised an afternoon of festivities, distributing 50 Mishloach Manot (Purim gift packages) in the hall at lunchtime today. These gifts of food helped us keep the important Purim tradition alive.
The vegan gift boxes included a box of raisins and a delicious Hamentashen – a special Purim biscuit filled with jam or chocolate. All wrapped in eco-friendly, recycled newspaper.
Purim is a celebration of Queen Esther’s bravery in saving the Jewish people, marked by costumes, parties, reading the Megillah, and enjoying treats like Hamentashen. A true mix of fun, tradition, and charity!
A big thank you to Alice at UJS Sixth Form for organising the delivery of these delicious Hamentashen from Carmelli Bakery in Golders Green.
At Croxley Danes, we’re proud to offer a range of cultural and religious societies that celebrate identity and promote a community where everyone feels welcome.
Purim Sameach!
